Greek Prime Minister Lucas Papademos is facing pressure from other EU countries

THE EU could be on the verge of ejecting Greece, it was revealed today, after an EU official stated it would not be the end of the world if the country left.
EU commissioner Neelie Kroes said today it would not be a disaster if Greece left the eurozone.
Speaking to a Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant, she said: "It's always said: if you let one nation go, or ask one to leave, the entire structure will collapse. But that is just not true."
She said Greece's austerity drive so far left much to be desired.
