CHANCELLOR George Osborne clashed with European Union chiefs last night over its plans to impose a crippling new tax on businesses.
In a blistering attack, he warned the proposed Europe-wide financial Transaction Tax could put 500,000 jobs at risk.
He said it would hit growth, put economic recovery in jeopardy and urged the European Commission to drop the idea before it drove more investment overseas.
He spoke out at a Brussels meeting of EU finance ministers.
His stand came as MPs across the Commons attacked moves for inflation-busting hikes in the EU’s annual budget that could cost Britain an extra £1.4billion a year.
Here we go, now aware of the damage caused by the fixed vote on a referendum all of a sudden the Government is turning eurosceptic, calling Cobblers again!
